Tin Lizzie Wineworks was featured today on WYPR’s Cellar Notes, hosted by Al Spoler and Hugh Sisson! Hugh visited the Wineworks recently and was kind enough to give us a shout-out on his show. While we haven’t heard the show yet, we’re already getting calls. As soon as it’s posted you can listen to it here.
To commerate this event we’re making a Special Cellar Notes Barrel!
We realize it’s very short notice, so to accomodate our new friends from the Cellar Notes listening audience, we’re going to make a special Cellar Notes barrel that you can make a by the case at a discounted price! But there’s just one hitch; you’ve got to act fast because we start making this barrel this Saturday!
This special barrel will be a blend of our best Cabernet Sauvignon from Krupp Brother’s Vineyards in Napa, CA and spectacular Syrah from Alder Spring Vineyards in Mendocino, CA. We call this our Aussie Blend because it’s a very common blend by our friends downunder. It’s a big bold fruit forward wine full of dark fruit aromas, with a big structure from the Cabernet and bold fruit and spice from the Syrah. This wine is really a crowd pleaser! Commercial wines made with these same grapes can sell for $100 to $200/bottle, but you can make this wine with us for a fraction of the cost.
For those of our new to Tin Lizzie Wineworks, our normal minimum order is five cases (60 bottles). However, friends of Cellar Notes can make a single case (12 bottles) for only $450/case or $37.5/bottle. Normally this single case winemaking session would cost $500 but we’re discouting it by 10% for our new Cellar Notes winemakers. This price include four one-hour winemaking sessions including:
The Crush (Saturday Oct. 12 at 2 pm.): You’ll work with a team of highly experienced winemakers and use a destemmer/crusher machine to turn fresh wine grapes into grape “must” ready for fermentation. You’ll learn about yeast and fermentation. Finally you’ll get to add a live yeast culture to kick off the fermentation process.
The Press (Oct 26 at 2 pm): You’ll transfer the fermented grapes to a press and squeeze out your new wine while you taste it. The wine will be pumped to a French oak barrel for aging in a climate controlled barrel room.
Tasting (March 1 and 2, 2025): We hold an open-house style tasting where you’ll get to taste your four-month old wine and share it with the other winemakers.
Bottling: You’ll get to bottle, cork and capsule your brand new wine and we’ll provide a custom-designed Cellar Notes labels for a professionally finished product that you can share with friends and family.
All that and great wine for only $450! But there’s another catch: this offer is limited to just 20 cases. To become part of the Cellar Notes Barrel, sign up here.
