Matt Zuchero, formerly of Napa, California, will be making a single signature barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon that you can participate in! We had talked about each of us doing a barrel, but I decided that this year should showcase Matt and his skills!
When she was told that Matt was working at Tin Lizzie Wineworks, Linda Bisson, PhD, our wine making instructor from UC Davis said, “It’s where he’s always belonged!”
Matt, who holds an MS in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis, has refined his winemaking skills in Napa, Sonoma and New Zealand. For his signature barrel he will be employing all the skills and knowledge he’s gain working at several famous wineries. Like our previous signature barrels, this wine will be:
- On it’s own schedule,
- Employ different and unique winemaking techniques,
- At least 75% Cabernet Sauvignon or more, from both Krupp Brothers Vineyard and Edcora Vineyards.
- Aged for 18 months in European oak,
- Come with it’s own silk screened heavy bottles.
This should be a truly unique wine and a fun experience for us all to be involved in.
And the best part is that you don’t have to but a quarter barrel, if you don’t want to. We’re making it available in as small as a two case allocation.
So join Matt in his first Tin Lizzie Wineworks signature barrel.
